Low Vision Assessment
What is a Low Vision Assessment?
Quite simply, a Low Vision Assessment is a way of identifying areas that may be improved with special visual aids.
This low vision is caused by many different types of conditions, and each patient is dealt with according to their individual condition and needs. Our low vision practitioner Mrs Barnes is very experienced and is able to help patients deal with their condition, and improve their quality of life by trying to make certain tasks easier with the use of magnifiers and other practical appliances.
Mrs Barnes will also give the patient lots of advice on what other services are available to them, and if necessary refer them to another member of the low vision team of professionals that can help the patient in other areas. For example, the patient may need help with household tasks so another member of the team will assist the patient in this area.
In all cases and situations the purpose of the assessment is to achieve the best possible results for the patient.
